New Nexus 7 features wireless charging

The New Nexus 7 has been broken down to reveal wireless charging and easy fixes

The Nexus 7 features wireless charging according to tear-down site iFixit. The website pulled apart the Nexus 7 2013 edition to show it has a wireless charging coil - something that wasn't mentioned on the device's original spec sheet. iFixit gave the Nexus 7 a rating of seven out of 10, saying it's relatively easy to repair too.
The website also compared the Nexus 7 2012 edition with the Nexus 7 2013 and observed:

• Comparing the second generation Nexus 7 to the first, we notice a drastic change in body type.
• The second generation (left) is thinner, narrower, and taller than its beefier predecessor, and lacks texture on the rear panel.
• Other obvious changes include the addition of a rear-facing camera, and an upgrade to stereo sound. There are now three grilles (serving two speakers): two at the base, and one up top.
• It also appears that while the micro USB port remains in place, the headphone jack has been…transported.

The new Nexus 7's battery has also been confirmed as 3950mAh, which is a smaller capacity than the original Nexus 7 that had a capacity of 4326 mAh. However, it provides an extra hour of battery life thanks to lower power consumption.

The Nexus 7 was launched at a private breakfast briefing with Google's Sundar Panchai and features:

• Connections: Micro USB 2.0 port with SlimPort + Bluetooth 4.0 + NFC
• Weight: 317.5 grams
• Thickness: 7.62mm
• Sensors: G-sensor, ambient light, Ecompass, gyroscope and proximity.
